Saturday 24th February  Western Counties North Rugby.

Result Yatton 36 - Keynsham 19

Yatton still held a tenuous top of the league position after this Saturday’s contest. They are the only team in the league who has played all eighteen fixtures. Barton Hill have two games outstanding and Centralians have three, this should prove an interesting end of season race.

An early penalty converted by Dave Keating gave the home side the lead, but on a heavy pitch they struggled to hold the visitors down in the first half.

An interception by center Coleman set Yatton back on their heels, Paul Edson converting. However good forward play won the ball with Mike Harris taking a try after breaking through three tackles.

Nick Garnham made his first try after excellent work by Gareth Walters and the back row.

Russell Tanner took advantage to score from the back of the Keynsham scrum and with the conversion kicked by Edson the score came to 15-14

Early in the second half Keynsham once again took an interception this time by the Keynsham number 8 Jack Watson.

Yatton pulled back again when the forwards took a scrum against the head and Nick Garnham flew in for his second try. The scrum half as always in the fray moved the ball well to give Nick Spellissy the chance to score under the posts.

Replacement,Sam Osbourne, showed his class and ran in a good try Dave Keating converting. After a good team effort, Matt Johnson was voted man of the match, an outstanding committed game supported by a pack of forwards who all played well.
