A depleted travelling Yatton had the opportunity to go a head by two penalty conversions within the first 10 minutes but both flew wide.

Josh Lister’s penalty for Stroud at 15 minutes was equalled by Gareth Walters’ for Yatton seconds after.

Yatton’s edge in mobility was matched by Strouds kicking ability

Despite territorial advantage to Yatton, it was Julian Harry breaking through tackles at 25 minutes and touching down that gave Stroud the points advantage again.

In first half injury time Lister and Walters again traded penalties, in that order.

Stroud having turned around at 13-6 were given warning when Yatton’s captain Chris Harris, collected long ball from the lineout and broke through beneath the posts.

Walters conversion levelled the scores again.

Shortly after a player from both sides was yellow carded, at 60 minutes.

Yatton’s attacks were made to falter and then in this end to end match, Stroud tested their defence in a long series of scrums to both sides within Yatton’s 22.

Stroud’s eventual reward was the last of Lister’s three penalty conversions with 10 minutes to go. Which by coincidence gave his side the same home winning margin that they had lost by at Yatton early in the season.
